Why QC Is the Make-or-Break Moment
Quality Control is the only checkpoint between you and a disappointing package. Once you GL (green light) an order on HooBuy, it ships. If you missed a flaw in the QC photos, that flaw is now yours to keep. This guide gives you a 12-point inspection system so you never GL blind again.

The 12-Point QC Inspection System
Overall Shape
Does the silhouette match retail? Look at toe box height, heel curve, and overall proportions.
Material Texture
Leather grain, suede nap direction, or fabric weave should match reference photos.
Color Accuracy
Compare under neutral lighting. Phone screens vary, but major shifts are visible.
Logo Placement
Measure distance from edges and compare to retail reference images.
Stitching Quality
Look for consistent spacing, straight lines, and matching thread color.
Font & Text
Check letter spacing, thickness, and any kerning issues on printed or embroidered text.
Hardware & Zippers
Metal color, engravings, and zipper pull shape should match retail references.
Insole & Interior
For footwear, check insole print quality. For bags, check lining material and inner tags.
Sole / Bottom
Pattern, texture, and branding on the sole are common flaw points for sneakers.
Size Tag
Verify size, country of manufacture, and production date where applicable.
Weight & Feel
If the seller provides weight, compare to retail specs. Underweight often means cheaper materials.
Box & Accessories
If you paid for a branded box, confirm it is included and undamaged in the QC.
When to GL vs RL: The Decision Matrix
Not every flaw is worth an RL. Use severity tiers. Minor cosmetic issues that are invisible on-foot are usually GL. Structural flaws, wrong colors, or misaligned logos are RL-worthy.
